NYC

This week is the last week of the spring semester and I could not be happier. Granted it’s been a very stressful week/series of weeks, but I am so excited to be done with classes and finals after Friday! I am looking forward to a much-needed break before June starts, which is when I will begin to write my thesis.

Here is a collection of photos from the past couple of weeks. I cannot wait to get a bit more free time after this week so I can return to blogging daily. I miss it!

My Weekend

Boone

Once again I headed up to my parents’ house this past weekend to take care of some important wedding-related business; mainly my first dress fitting, and my first bridal shower. I had my dress fitting on Saturday and my shower on Sunday, which my lovely aunts threw for me (I will be sharing pictures later this week)! However, once the shower was over, I hopped on a train and headed back into the city to go home and do work. Oh, grad school. Only 2 more weeks of the semester! Here are a few pictures from my weekend. Hope you had a great one as well!

Last Weekend

The Boys

Last week Alex and I went to my parents’ house for the weekend to take care of some wedding business, which included putting our invitations together and sending them out, as well as meeting with the caterers. I also found my wedding dress, which I guess is a pretty big deal ;) And of course I saw the boys, which along with seeing the human members of my family, is my favorite part about our weekend visits upstate! Here are a few pictures from last weekend.

Blooms

Things have felt a little off this past month, which is probably because I spent half of it traveling. Thankfully though, things are getting better and life is starting to feel a bit more normal (whatever normal is). Of course at this point, however, I only have about a month left of the semester so I think life is about to get weird again, and by weird I mean stressful. Very stressful. I’ll keep you updated, but until then, here are a handful of snapshots that I took over the last few days or so. Hope you’re enjoying the new springtime blooms as much as I am!

Saturday

View from Bryant Park

Alex usually has to work on the weekends so whenever he manages to score a day off during the weekend, we try to do something special. Sometimes something special means spending the day inside and having a marathon of some sort (e.g. the House of Cards marathon we had a couple of weeks ago). But other times we venture out into our beautiful city and do a bit of exploring, which is something we rarely get the chance to do.

This past Saturday Alex had the day off so we decided to visit the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market, which we actually had never been to before. All in all we really loved it, aside from the obvious absence of food, which is of course, our favorite thing about the Williamsburg Flea Market. However, the true test to gauge whether or not a flea market is any good is whether or not you find anything worthy of taking home with you. I managed to walk away with an equestrian print silk scarf for $3 (seen here), as well as a vintage Longchamp bag that I was able to get down to $25. Success!

After our flea market experience, we grabbed lunch before strolling through Bryant Park on our way over to Grand Central. While in Grand Central we picked up some jumbo macarons from Eli’s (big surprise) and the hopped on the subway and headed uptown. Once uptown, we popped into Banana Republic where I proceeded to take pictures of Alex as he tried on suits. We then ended our evening with dinner and a movie. It was a really lovely Saturday and I hope to have many more just like it in the future.

The Past Week or So

Seagull

This past week was my spring break, and although it was nice to have a week without classes, I would hardly call it a break due to the amount of work I had to complete, as well as various obligations I had to fulfill.

U.S. Capitol

However, amidst all of the work and appointments, I did get to spend a ton of time with Alex – although it is never really enough! – as well as got to see my family and the pups! In addition, Alex and I did manage to sneak away to our nation’s capital for a few days. Of course I took more than a few pictures (and some video too!) while in DC so this week I will be sharing several entries on the blog devoted to the district.

Above is a picture I took of the United States Capitol.

And below are several pictures from the past week or so, most of which were taken while up at my parents’ house.
